The Greenup, Illinois, community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Paisley Grace Thoele, who passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana at just four years old. Her passing has left her family, friends, and neighbors grieving the loss of a precious little girl whose joyful spirit, gentle heart, and boundless love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born on April 28, 2022, in Effingham, Illinois, Paisley was the cherished daughter of Ryan and Lacey (Eggers) Thoele and the loving big sister of Porter Thoele, whom she adored. Though her life was brief, she filled every day with laughter, curiosity, and unconditional love, leaving a lasting impression on all who met her.
Family members remember Paisley as a sweet, thoughtful, and caring child whose protective nature and compassionate heart shone beyond her years. She delighted in helping those around her and brought happiness to family gatherings with her bright smile, playful personality, and infectious laughter.
Paisley loved spending time outdoors, especially camping with her parents, riding her beloved pony, Millie, splashing in creeks, and swimming during the summer months. A true country girl at heart, she found endless joy in exploring nature and creating treasured memories with her family.
She also had a vivid imagination and loved dressing up as a princess, twirling through the house, singing songs, dancing, and turning ordinary moments into magical adventures. Her enthusiasm for life and ability to spread joy made every day brighter for those around her.
Those closest to Paisley describe her as polite, compassionate, and always eager to lend a helping hand. She especially treasured the time she spent with her cousin and best friend, Ella, sharing countless moments of laughter, play, and friendship that will forever be remembered.
Paisley is survived by her parents, Ryan and Lacey Thoele; her beloved brother, Porter; her grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many friends who will continue to cherish her memory and celebrate the love she brought into their lives.
A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. A private family funeral service will follow, with burial at Aten Cemetery in Hidalgo.
